PCHETA! PCHETA! PCHETA! For the past week, The Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA/H.R.647) has been the talk of the town in the Nation’s Capital.

On June 17th, the HAN team partnered with the Patient Quality of Life Coalition (PQLC) for a day of online action in support of PCHETA. Hospice and palliative care advocates around the country flooded Twitter timelines with messages to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Pallone and Ranking Member Walden asking them to move PCHETA forward! Special thanks to all of you who participated!

Additionally, on Thursday, June 20th the HAN Team joined PQLC and several other healthcare organizations on Capitol Hill for a “lobby day” to urge Members of Congress to support this bill.

We are happy to report that following all the collective lobbying and advocacy activity, TEN House Reps. have cosponsored PCHETA! See below for a list of new cosponsors:

Rep. O’Halleran, Tom [D-AZ-1] 06/18/2019

A number of organizations here and around the country are advocating just as we are.  Let this be a reminder that it takes a combination of efforts to elevate an issue, and that we must be persistent in our pursuit for greater access and utilization of hospice and palliative care.
