The HAN team is excited to announce that the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension (HELP) Committee will consider the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA, S.2080) during a mark-up on December 12th at 10:00 AM ET. HELP Committee Chairman Alexander and Ranking Member Murray were negotiating the final bill text earlier today.

The mark-up process involves debating, amending, and rewriting proposed legislation. If you are interested in learning more about this process, or would like to follow the hearing live, tune into HELP Committee Website on December 12th.

This hearing follows the strong, bipartisian passage in the House (H.R. 647) in October and is a key formal step toward the legislation moving to the floor for a vote. HUGE thank you to all the advocates who have called and emailed your Members of Congress in support of this legislation. Keep up the momentum, tune in next week, and stay posted for more information regarding movement in the Senate!
